Puzzle #11: A Real Life Saver
Today’s puzzle is inspired by all the Laffy Taffy jokes I’ve read over the years. Perhaps more a joke than a riddle, I’m hoping this will inspire at least a few seconds of thought. Good luck!

July 28, 2018 – Immediately after getting back to New York City from Connecticut, I set my sights on New Jersey. I headed immediately for Penn Station, only having a minute or two to stop and try New York style pizza (which I admit I prefer over Chicago style, sue me). One of the trains was canceled, so the station was in chaos and I had to fight my way onto the train for the privilege of standing on a crammed train car. With the little space I had, I slipped my phone out of my pocket and booked a […]
Finally, this week’s puzzle is ready. Yesterday was a crazy day, and I apologize for missing the normal schedule. But it’s ready now, so dig in!
Just wanted to give notice that my weekly riddle this week will be delayed. I expect a new one to be posted about 11:30 PM Thursday 8/16.

July 28, 2018 – I landed in LaGuardia, nabbed a metro pass from the kiosk, and headed for Manhattan. I hadn’t the faintest plan at the time of when to do what, so I was pleasantly surprised that OMEscape had a reasonably early group I could join up with. After exploring Times Square briefly, I took a quick walk to OMEscape and signed in.
Well… That was an adventure. I booked a flight to New York City and a flight back from Washington DC with not a detail planned in between. Somehow, it all worked out. I had a lot of fun, with tons of surprises along the way. I’ll be making separate posts regarding the escape rooms I solved in each city; for now this is just a summary of how I got around.
To commemorate a weekend of heavy travel and miles and miles of walking, this week’s puzzle is related to navigation and the what one might find while exploring. This weekend I knocked six more states, plus the DC bonus, off my 2018 checklist.
I’ve been quiet for a few days, but not for a lack of activity! Quite the opposite actually- been running hard these last few days tackling the east coast with no car and only a vague plan. It’s been successful so far, with a ton of pleasant surprises along the way.
