Puzzles (Solved)

Happy Halloween!  Last week’s puzzle was a roller coaster, with Scott S. finding two unorthodox solutions right at the buzzer.  Thanks to all who participated!  This week’s puzzle is also numbers-based.  Keeping things mixed up between numbers and words, riddles and challenges.

Surprise!  It’s a new puzzle before 10PM!  There’s a little more time to figure this one out.  There are multiple solutions this time, and I’m interested in seeing which of them get found.  The official winner this week will be declared by who has found the most distinct solutions this week, with the time of entry being a tiebreaker.

Sticking with fall-themed word puzzles, I’ve got one centered around a surprisingly versatile word.  Can you figure this one out?

After my late delivery of my previous puzzle, I’m left with a pretty small gap between riddles.  While last week’s was about numbers, this one is purely a word puzzle.

I’ve gotten a few requests to do another numbers-based puzzle, so as requested, here one is!  If you’ve gone through my previous puzzles, you probably know my MO with numeric puzzles by now, so it’ll be interesting to see if that makes this one really easy.

Today is one of those days where I’m definitely not in the right mindset to come up with a new riddle…  Still, the show must go on!  So I sat back and thought of versatile words I can be vague about.  Here’s what I came up with:

Right before midnight (well, about an hour), I’m posting my promised Wednesday puzzle.  So it’s only appropriate I go with a clock theme this time.

When passing through Honolulu Airport, I spotted a Japanese zen garden below the path to my gate.  This combination of cultures inspired me to put together a puzzle based on something I saw there.

Today’s puzzle is inspired by all the Laffy Taffy jokes I’ve read over the years.  Perhaps more a joke than a riddle, I’m hoping this will inspire at least a few seconds of thought.  Good luck!
