Long Drive East

It’s nice being back in the swing of things with travel. Only a few weeks after circumventing Lake Michigan, we’re hitting the road for a long journey eastward.

With only two days to get from Chicago, IL to Stamford, CT, we wont have an abundance of time to explore. We’ve planned for two major attractions and built in a little extra discretionary time.

The attractions will both be on Sunday- we’re headed to Philadelphia first to visit the USS New Jersey. I love exploring World War II battleships and it’s been four years since my last visit to one (USS North Carolina in Wilmington, NC). Christina has never been, so she’s excited, too.

The other attraction is Escape.exe in Bethlehem, PA. We played their first game, Site: 117 just over a year ago on our last road trip to the east coast, and I was tremendously impressed in how creative they were in crafting a great escape room experience. Their new game, Neon Tokyo, looks to hold quite a few surprises, including offering two entirely different games based on a choice the player makes. I really can’t wait to try it!

We’ll be spending a week in Stamford before heading home, so I’m eager to plan more content to pack into this trip, but for now, I’m focused on kicking off our journey and finding lots of hidden gems along the way!
