I’ve played a few dozen escape room home games and slowly been working through a stockpile I purchased before the lockdowns started. I’ve enjoyed many of them quite a bit, but the Sherlock Holmes Escape Book is the first one that blew my socks off.
My escape room solve tally has been stuck just shy of 400 since the lockdowns started. Sure, I’ve played a few home games and online games, and most of them have been enjoyable, but it’s a little bit different of an experience. So when I got an invitation from Cici and Brandon at EscapeTheRoomers to beta test a remotely guided escape room, I was immediately intrigued.
You may notice a theme with which puzzles appeal to Christina and me. Bright colors? Tasty food? Bingo.
Given that the world out there has changed dramatically, it’s about time I have my website follow suit.
No guarantees that I’ll do this, but a fun idea I’ve been floating as states start to come off of COVID-19 lockdowns…

Three new puzzles to add to the stack! Two more from Ravensburger’s escape puzzle series and one from a new brand I tried called Dowdle. Got lots to report on!
During the COVID-19 lockdown, I’ve had quite a terrible adventure dealing with the dregs of the internet provider community. I could write pages and pages of the full story, but I’ll leave it with the shorter synopsis below.
I saw a comment recently about how escape room players are bored of common themes like “jail break” and “Sherlock Holmes.” I have to respectfully disagree on two counts.
Christina and I were doubly excited to try out Rabbit Hole Escape Games in Tampa. For one, we had heard from a few different sources that Rabbit Hole’s games are some of the best in the Tampa area. And for another, I couldn’t wait to try Rabbit Hole’s escape room / mini golf hybrid. It’s the only game of this nature I’ve ever heard of- it might be the only one in the world.
