Last year, we had a ridiculously good stretch of mind game shows, with Bloody Game 3, Devil’s Plan 2, and Genius UK airing at the same time, with Youtube productions Gamebreaker and Life’s Game providing additional options. Since then, we’ve had a long break, but the silence was broken by a very worthwhile entry to the genre – Four Wishes!

I adore a good passion project, especially one that punches above its weight class. Gamebreaker is a new game show with a humble origin – it’s a Youtube series, it has almost no budget, and it doesn’t have any major TV stars attached to draw in new audiences. In spite of that, episode 1 and 2 are a great kickoff to a highly entertaining series that does a great job capturing the excitement of game theory driven shows like The Genius and The Devil’s Plan.

I recently shared an update about the new launch of two Korean-style mind game shows- The Devil’s Plan season 2 and The Genius UK. The Devil’s Plan recently wrapped up, and The Genius is nearing its finale, so let me answer the big question for you- how are they?
I have something truly random to plug today- a subscription to a streaming service called Kocowa Plus. I’ve only been using it for one show, Bloody Game, but even just using it this way, it’s been well worth it.
I’ve written previously about how much Netflix’s The Devil’s Plan rocked my world. Since watching this phenomenal Korean intellectual game show, I’ve gone on a pilgrimage of watching other cerebral Korean game shows, and I’ve been loving it. The Genius, Crime Scene, Time Hotel… I’ve watched more than seven seasons of content and can’t get enough.
