March 20, 2022 – I’ve been lucky to have the opportunity to play some really cool escape rooms on my birthday in the past, and 2022 was no exception. Escape Code in Branson has placed well in the USA Today escape room rankings, and I was curious to see what it was all about.
With our dog finally fully trained and ready to stay with family members, Christina and I packed our bags for a whirlwind weekend trip. This kind of weekend used to be our bread and butter, but we had fallen a bit out of practice, and it was really satisfying to get back in the groove.
Armchair treasure hunts- I didn’t know what they were two weeks ago, and now I’m obsessed with them.
The last few weeks have been crazy. I’ve visited some of the coolest escape rooms I’ve seen, gotten involved in trying to build an escape room community in Chicago, and tried a new type of treasure hunt. Oh yeah, and working and training a new puppy. And I actually almost forgot- starting a little business, too.
I only spent Thursday at the Transworld Escape Room show. I really enjoyed it, though, and plan to come back next year.
It’s my first time in a few years actually attending an escape room conference! I was around during Transworld last year but this is the first time I’m going to the event itself!
Cryptex Hunt 2022 is over! After a furious few hours of puzzling, a winner was crowned- congratulations to team Cryptex for Hidden Herrings for finishing first!
In 2021, Cryptex Hunt was one of my favorite puzzle hunts. This week has been the kickoff for the 2022 hunt, and tomorrow, March 5th, is when the rubber hits the road for the bulk of the challenge.
September 7, 2021- For my 500th escape room, I wanted to do something special. Thankfully, I live less than two hours from one of the most ambitious and impressive escape room experiences out there- a four hour “Save the City” experience at City 13 Escape in Oak Creek, WI, touted as the world’s largest escape game.
I promise this isn’t becoming a dog blog, but I needed to explain where my time has been going lately!
